Who are Woman Aid Leicestershire?


Women’s Aid Leicestershire are a remarkable team who’s unique service provide accompanying survivors of domestic abuse on every step of their journey.


The range of services allows them to work with women whether they are fleeing from domestic abuse and need refuge/or whether they have a place to stay but need to increase their safety and independence. They also work with children to support them and help them make sense of what is happening.


Did you know ?


At the end of March 2018, an estimated 2.0 million adults aged 16 to 59 years experienced domestic abuse in the last year (1.3 million women, 695,000 men).


 Did you know this also affects our next generations? 


An estimated 39,000 babies under one year of age live with domestic violence in the UK


20% of children in the UK have lived with an adult perpetrating domestic violence


62% of children in households where domestic violence is happening are also directly harmed


Including Teen dating violence is becoming more common - Nearly 1.5 million high school students nationwide experience physical abuse from a dating partner in a single year.
